Undyed Leather
Undyed leather refers to natural, untreated leather that has not been dyed or covered with any artificial color. When you receive a new undyed vegetable-tanned leather product, it will have a natural light color. Over time, the leather will darken and develop a patina, similar to the way our skin tans in the sun.
What is our Undyed Leather?
Our undyed leather is raw, natural vegetable-tanned leather with nothing to hide. It hasn’t been treated, dyed, or coated, meaning every mark, scar, and grain variation is visible, just as it came from the tannery. When new, it appears pale and nude. Over time, sunlight, handling, and use darken the leather, creating a deep, rich patina unique to how you live with it. This natural aging is a defining trait and one of the most loved features of undyed leather. It’s not perfect and that’s the point.
