Undyed Leather - Not covered Un-dyed leather means, nude leather, with nothing covered up - so they will have some natural range marks, scars, and other blemishes. In other words, they are not processed to make them appear perfect, like something you would get in a department store. When you get your brand new un-dyed vegetable-tanned leather good, it looks a natural color. The hide is effectively naked and so will age and darken with the sun just like your own skin. Aging will develop a rich color and patina. Sun exposure, daily handling, water, and conditioning give natural vegetable tanned leather a rustic look over time. This was a purchase for my birthday. The parcel arrived and I put it aside to open on the day. I have an A4 Galen cover from 2017, which is truly hand stitched, and very good quality. I was expecting the new one to be the same. It really isn’t. I should have known from the price. It’s made from edge pieces, highly marked, badly finished, and not hand stitched. I put it away in a cupboard to stop it making me feel sad on my birthday. My photo shows the contrast between my first Galen leather purchase, and what will be my last. Not a happy birthday present.

The cover you received is from our newer slim cover line, which is intentionally designed to be lightweight, machine-stitched, and minimal in profile. By contrast, your 2017 A4 folio belongs to our earlier line, which uses thicker leather, a heavier build, and hand stitching. These two styles cater to different preferences, still we have both styles on our store.
Regarding the marks you noticed on the leather: these are not defects but rather a natural characteristic of the leather we use. They often appear more visible on lighter colors, while darker leathers conceal them. With time and regular use, the leather will develop a rich patina, softening and deepening in character. The craftsmanship here is amazing! Well done guys!! Fit and finish is top notch. I chose the C. H. Orange because I wanted something with light and dark tones and this color did not disappoint! Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing about this product.
The leather itself is very soft, almost velvet-like. At least on mine. I can rub my fingernails across it and very light scratches will show but they will rub out very easily, which is a very normal characteristic of this leather and the marks that do remain only give it a personality that tells a story about its journey. At the same time, this is a very durable leather and I have no doubt it will last a lifetime!
Do not hesitate to purchase this product is you are considering this style of notebook covers. This color is beautiful and I’m always getting compliments on it when someone sees it!

The cover is everything I wanted. The elastic addition to the loop fits my chunky pens perfectly and the little slits in the inside covers are perfect to have a few sheets of blotting paper with me on the go. I’ll be buying more colours!

This is my second A5 slim cover. I got my first one in Crazy Horse Smoky and I really loved it, so I decided to get a second one in Crazy Horse Tan, and I think this is maybe my fav. color yet. I have the hobonichi A5 (yellow) notebook in this cover, which I use for my ink swatches. The crazy horse leather is absolutely beautiful!
I got this A5 slim cover in the crazy horse smoky color. The leather is just beautiful, really smooth. The color in real life is darker and greener than what's showing up in my photo. I think I read in someone's review that the color will be more towards green than grey, and he/she was right. It has more green tone than grey. Either way, I love it. I have the Midori A5 line notebook in it with the Twsbi. It goes perfectly together!

Shipping
We ship worldwide. All items are sent via our shipping partners UPS/Fedex. Your items may need to be signed for upon receipt.
Due to security reasons, we cannot ship to PO boxes.
Some items are ready for shipment in our workshop, located in Istanbul. In stock items dispatch within 6-7 working days after payment has cleared using our shipping partners, UPS & FedEx. If the item is not in stock, then we will need to make your order.
Deliveries to USA addresses will take 3-4 days. For the UK and Europe, 2-3 days. To Australia, 6-7 days. For the rest of the world, expect a maximum of 7 working days. Plus production times.
- Buyers are responsible for customs duties. There are no additional taxes for goods being delivered to the USA.
- European Union : New rules after 1 July 2021; we charged VAT for orders up to 150€. It means no hidden or extra customs fees during the delivery. Orders more than 150€ subject to customs same as before.

Returns - Cancellations
- Items (except personalized items) can be returned for a full refund within 7 days of receipt. Buyer is responsible for the Shipping costs. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have before placing an order.
