Shanghai Stationary Inks
Shanghai Stationary is a family-run stationery brand by Astrid and Emile, based in a small town in the middle of the Netherlands. Their motto says it beautifully: “we met in Shanghai, but we make in the Netherlands.” Their world combines fountain pen inks, good paper, bookbinding, journaling, and a deep love for color. Their own site describes their focus simply as paper, color, and pen — which is exactly what you feel in their inks.
We first met this lovely family three years ago at the Dutch Pen Show. Every year at DPS, their table is always full of people swatching inks, enjoying colors, and discovering new shades. This year, we met again at Ambiente Frankfurt and decided it was finally time to bring their beautiful inks to Galen Leather.
Shanghai Stationary Fountain Pen Inks
Shanghai Stationary inks are made in the Netherlands with great attention to detail. Their color palette is inspired by the vibrancy of Shanghai, bringing rich, expressive, and joyful shades to everyday writing, journaling, sketching, and ink swatching.
Their inks are fountain-pen-friendly and can be used with cartridge and piston filling systems, as well as with pointed, broad, glass nibs and brushes. The new glass ink bottles also come in a specially designed sustainable origami-based box, giving the whole experience a thoughtful and collectible feel.
For us, Shanghai Stationary feels very personal: a small maker with a joyful color language, a warm family story, and a strong place in the pen show community. We are happy to share their inks with our customers.
