Akkerman 05 Shocking Blue Ink
The Akkerman "baby long neck" bottles have a capacity of approximately 60 ml. The faceted ink bottle is characterized by the long neck that contains a glass marble.
What makes this bottle so unique By tilting the closed ink bottle, the neck fills with ink. Upright again, the marble will fall back and prevent the ink from flowing back. This creates a reservoir with ink above the marble from which the fountain pen can easily be filled, even when the pot is almost empty..
- Can be used in all fountain pens, vintage or modern.
- Do not cause clogging in your pen.
- Offers a smooth typing experience.
- Will not damage your pen.
- It can be used in piston and converter filler pens.
- The pH value is in determining international standards.
- It has an MSDS certificate.
- We recommend that you do not leave the ink you use in your fountain pen for more than 4 weeks.
Akkerman ink comes from the Akkerman Pen Store in The Hague, in the Netherlands. These inks are renowned for their unique glass bottle design and filling system with a glass marble! Akkerman launched his own ink line in 2010 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the P.W. Akkerman store.
I bought the Akkkermann Shocking blue ink 60 ml bottle. Simply, for the bottle. However, as a user of Dark Blue fountain pen inks. ( due mostly to my visual issues).
I am looking forward to when I draw the first fill of this ink into my fountain pen. I currently just drew my first fill of Platinum Black into my fountain pen. And, like how bold the colour is. To date it is my favourite black ink.
After I use the Platinum ink up . I will be moving into blue inks exclusively. At that point, I will fill my fountain pen with the second ink I had purchased. The Ferris Wheel Press Tanzinite Sky blue ink.
I purchased my second ink as a means of supporting a local business. As, I am a Canadian. And, Ferris Wheel Press ink are manufactured in Canada. I will likely continue purchasing ink through Ferris Wheel Press. As, with other brands. Import charges and, Customs duties. Can be considerable.
After, I empty the Ferris Wheel Press ink bottle. I than will fill my fountain pen with the first fill of the Akkerman Shocking Blue ink.
The retail cost of the product was a good value in my view. However, after paying the Customs fees and, agreed to delivery charges. The $60.00 Canadian. Increased to $ 90.00. For this reason only I will be refraining from further Akkerman purchases moving forward.
